20km, still ok

Fast delivery, fits perfect. Already have 20km and more, and the shoes are really comfortable. Switching from another shoe, the first 50 to 100m I have to learn how to walk, but that fine 😀

Guter Schuh, aber...

Ein neues eintauchen in die Welt der Barfußschuhe. Der Schuh ist dank seiner breiten Zehenbox und vom Obermaterial ein guter Übergangsschuh, den man auch bei kälteren Temperaturen mit einer dickeren Socke gut tragen kann. An sich ein echt guter Barfußschuh! Aber: das Obermaterial reißt an einer Seite ein. Und das nach sechs Monaten. Bei solch einem Preis hätte ich erwartet, dass die Schuhe mindestens ein Jahr durchhalten. Wenn nicht sogar länger. Ich hatte überlegt, einen anderen zu testen. Aber für einen Testlauf, sind mir die anderen Schuhe teilweise echt zu teuer...

One problem: the sizing system

The shoes are very comfortable, although I have not yet been able to test them enough to make a durability assessment. I have only found one problem: the sizing system. For a 25 cm foot they recommend size 40 but it is small, I suppose size 40.5 would be more appropriate. They should correct that. Because of this I'm going to have to buy a size that makes me less comfortable.

Thicker sole offers more protection, but less ground feel

I own several Xero shoes, between them also the Mesa Trail and the Z-Trek sandal which are my preferred running shoes for off-road trails as long as the ground is not too rocky. Compared to those shoes, the Terra Flex II has a thicker sole - more rigid and more padded. The Terra Flex II is very light weight, the sole has a decent grip, the fabric evacuates sweat and heat quite well. The rubber cap for the toes offers a good amount of protection against accidental hitting of rocks, wet grass and the normal wear off the shoe. Conclusion: for experienced “bare footers” a good shoe for rocky terrain where the very thin 4-6mm soles of the true barefoot shoes don’t offer enough protection, otherwise also a shoe for barefoot beginners who want more comfort. Preferably in dry weather.
