The Alpine keeps the wet out with a fully seam-sealed inner bootie and a water-resistant membrane in the boot’s upper.

The insulated polyester fleece lining keeps those piggies nice and warm. And a heat-reflective insole adds to the winter-friendly comfort. And, yes, you can remove the insole for an even more “barefoot” feeling.

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry.
We do not recommend putting your Xeros in the washing machine or dryer.

What’s the cold weather rating for the Alpine?

Unlike, say, sleeping bags, there’s no accurate temperature rating system for shoes. How a shoe handles the cold (or, rather, how a person handles the cold in a shoe) depends on factors beyond air temperature, including: ground temperature, humidity, blood circulation in your feet, foot mobility (the more you move, the warmer you might feel) and, of course, the socks you’re wearing (or not wearing, as the case may be).

The short answer is, the Alpine has 200g insulation, rated to -32°C/-25°F.

With the seam sealed bootie, heat-reflecting insole, insulated synthetic lining, and lugged sole, we’re giving you a cozy natural movement option for staying warm in the cold.

Does the Alpine work well with snowshoes?

The answer is YES! The Alpine is a great boot to pair with snowshoes, especially with the zero-drop, FeelTrue® rubber soles for a low center of gravity. Most snowshoes secure the boots with straps that go over the toes, instep, and around the heel, and will work just fine with the Alpine. And with our 200g insulation, rated to -25°/-32°C, and the fully seam-sealed, water-resistant inner bootie, your feet should stay warm and toasty while you’re hiking!

What can I say! Perfect for Swedish winter! Very warm, easy to put on and off, water resistant and very comfortable.

Great for winter!

So far, so good! I bought a size larger so I can wear cozy wool socks inside and it keeps me warm. They are pretty slippery though, so you need to be extra careful when wearing in rain.

Confy but NOT waterproof

I'm very disappointed with these boots. They are confy and warm when dry... but they don't stay dry, ever! Even in simply damp grass, let alone under the rain or in the snow!! Also, a very poor ventilation means that feet get damp even in dry conditions. A massive let down, to be honest. I don't usually leave negative feedback, but these are not cheap and were a significant investment on my part. I will likely not purchase from your brand again.

Not waterproof at all

I bought them for a hiking winter holiday. Walking at home was very comfortable. Today first use in snow. After a walk of just 2 kilometers I have got very wet and cold feets!
